Is Keep or Toss a subscription?
No. Keep or Toss is sold as a one-time purchase. There are no recurring subscription fees.
Does my license survive reinstalling?
Yes, on the same Windows user account. Your license lives in Windows Credential Manager, not in the app’s files, so uninstalling and reinstalling Keep or Toss doesn’t affect it.
How do I move to another PC?
Deactivate the license (or uninstall) on the old PC, then enter your license key on the new one. Each license allows 2 device activations at a time.
What happens when I toss a file?
Toss moves the file into a hidden .KeepOrToss_deleted folder inside the same folder you’re triaging — nothing leaves your computer, and the structure stays intact.
Is anything permanently deleted?
No. Tossed files move to the hidden .KeepOrToss_deleted folder and stay there until you empty it yourself.
What if a file with the same name already exists?
Keep or Toss never overwrites a file. If a toss, a send, or an undo would collide with a file that already has that name, the incoming file is saved as name_1.ext instead, and you’re shown a notice.
Can I undo a decision?
Yes. Decisions can be undone throughout the session.
Can I undo a send?
Yes, the same way as a toss. If the file is still where it landed, Undo moves it back. If it already left that folder on its own, Undo tells you and clears the entry instead of guessing; if the destination drive is offline, Undo keeps the entry and asks you to reconnect it.
What are send-to folders?
A send-to folder is a folder of your own — the archive drive, a client-delivery folder, anywhere — assigned to its own key. Press that key while triaging and the file moves there immediately; it counts as a keep, so your progress still advances. Available in every tier (Essential, Plus, Pro) with an active license, up to five folders at a time.
What file types does it support?
Images (PNG, JPG/JPEG, WEBP, GIF, HEIC/HEIF), video (MP4, WEBM, MOV), and PDFs on every tier. RAW formats (ARW, CR2, CR3, NEF, DNG, RAF, ORF) render natively and are included on the Pro tier.
Does it work offline, and with external drives?
Yes to both. All processing happens locally with no internet connection required, and folders from different drives — internal, external, or an SD card — can be added to the same queue.
What operating system does it support?
Windows.
Does Keep or Toss upload my files?
No. File processing happens locally on your computer.
Do I need an account?
No account is required to use the application.
Do I get updates?
Yes. Software updates are included with the purchase.
